That headline says a lot.  Like other countries, Canada has governed food largely through agriculture policies that promote large-scale production and export.   But now we need something different -- an integrated network of laws, regulations and practices that put Food at the centre, and that encourage production and consumption that is not only good for big business but that is good for ecosystems, health and rural communities.  

That was the focus of my talk on April 1, 2016 to Member of Parliament Joyce Murray and her monthly breakfast meeting, where I also showed a few of my favourite WWII food-campaign posters, including the one you see here.
