A seasoned speaker

A long-time journalist and former college instructor in Vancouver, BC, Eleanor Boyle has a BA in psychology, PhD in neuroscience, and MSc in food policy.  She's been speaking and writing for 25 years about how food systems can be healthy, sustainable, and fair.

Eleanor advocates for conservation, moderation, and plant-rich eating over any single dietary label or approach. Her new book shows that changing the ways we produce and consume food will help improve climate and the environment, human health, hunger, and global conflict.

"Eleanor is an inspiring, well researched, thoughtful and engaging speaker.  She blends hope and humour while outlining doable solutions we can use as we face down a food crisis brought about by climate change.  Drawing on the backdrop of a revolutionary food system change created in the UK during WW2, she takes her listeners through the steps necessary to create a sustainable and just response including answers to food access, production, and conservation.  The Vancouver Food Policy Council was thrilled to be able to engage Eleanor in our Community Talks Series. — Carol White, Co-Chair of Vancouver Food Policy Council's Climate Working Group

"Eleanor presented her insights into the benefits of a plant-rich diet as a solution to climate change at one of our Drawdown BC sessions. She was such a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. Her presentation was right on point: informative, engaging, and motivating. We will certainly be asking Eleanor to present to our classes again!"   — Michelle Sheardown, Director, Drawdown BC

"Eleanor Boyle is a wealth of knowledge and an extremely organized and prepared presenter. She not only knows her material, but is very responsive in her communication style which made the whole experience more gratifying and expansive." — Frances Litman, CreativelyUnited.org founder and communications coordinator
